Enable Multi-factor Authentication for Users

Enable Multi-factor Authentication for a User

Administrators can enable multi-factor authentication for a user.


  1. Click Manage Users.
  2. If linked organizations, select an Organization.
  3. Ensure multi-factor authentication licenses are available.

  4. Select a user for whom multi-factor authentication is not enabled.
  5. Click Enable Multi-factor.
  6. The Enable Multi-Factor Authentication dialog appears.

  7. Select a Country.

Primary Phone Number

When enabling multi-factor authentication, only the primary phone number is provided. The user is offered the opportunity to provide a backup phone number when they register for multi-factor authentication.

North American Numbering Plan

Many countries and territories participate in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for telephone numbers. For countries participating in NANP, the country code is assumed and the telephone number is in the format of {3 digit area code}-{3 digit exchange code}-{4 digit subscriber number}.

Note: For more information regarding NANP, see Multi-Factor Authentication.

  1. Select United States/Canada for Country.
  2. Type a Phone number.
  3. Type an Extension, if needed.
  4. Click Save.

All Other Countries

For any country not participating in NANP, a country code is required and the telephone number is in a variety of formats.

  1. Select Other for Country.
  2. Type a Country Code.
  3. Type a Phone number.
  4. Type an Extension, if needed.
  5. Click Save.

Register for Multi-Factor Authentication

After saving the information on the Enable Multi-Factor Authentication dialog, the user must register for multi-factor authentication within Infinicenter Console.

Multi-Factor Authentication Email

The user receives an email inviting the user to register for multi-factor authentication.

  1. Multi-factor authentication email is received from Global Support Services.
  2. Text describing multi-factor authentication.
  3. Click on the link to open Multi-Factor Authentication Registration.

Follow the steps in the e-mail to complete your multi-factor authentication registration.

Multi-Factor Authentication Registration

The link in the email directs the user to Infinicenter Console Multi-Factor Authentication Registration page.

  1. Type your Password.
  2. Click Validate.
  3. Type a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to Create PIN.
  4. Re-type to Verify PIN.
  5. Click Register.
  6. The Registration Completed dialog appears.

  7. Click link to open Infinicenter Console.
