SSL VPN fails after updating Java

Issue:

VPN Connect fails after updating Java™.

Cause:

A security-related change introduced in Java version 7 update 51 causes the launch of the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client to fail. Infinicenter Console now supports the Cisco standalone client that does not require Java.

Workaround:

The permanent solution is to remove the incompatible Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client and reinstall the standalone client.

Remove the incompatible Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. Follow the instructions for:

Reinstall the standalone Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client:

  1. Download the client as described in Cannot download Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility client.
  2. Locate the installer from the location to which your browser saved it.
  3. Execute the installer and follow the directions to install.
  4. Follow the steps for your browser, either Internet Explorer or Firefox or Chrome.
